Peli™ Products Expands its Manufacturing to Europe
http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/transport/peli/press8.html
Peli™ Products, EMEA headquarters of Pelican™ Products, (a leading global manufacturer of high-impact, watertight Protector™ cases), has started up manufacturing operations in Europe in order to meet increasing global demand.

The European facility is located in Crottendorf, Germany and will work in tandem with their 18,600 square meter plant in Torrance, California to manufacture six of their most popular Protector Case models (1400, 1450, 1500, 1520, 1550 and 1600). Peli's forecast calls for additional models to be produced at this new facility in 2008.

These goods will be delivered to all European Union, central Europe, Russia and former Soviet Republic countries. "Starting up production operations in Europe not only makes sense for our European customers but for Pelican as an organization, as it will be quicker and less expensive, so it's a win-win situation for all," says Lyndon Faulkner, Peli Products President and CEO.

The European facility will incorporate the same stringent quality standards that the company has in Torrance. "The only difference our European customers will notice is that their case orders will arrive in half the time. We look forward to seamlessly providing the same quality that they've come to expect from Peli products," adds Faulkner.

"This commitment is part of an aggressive plan that will double our staff and triple our sales in the next five yearsâ€?, states Christopher Marino, Peli Products Managing Director. Known the world over for their legendary toughness, Peli Protector™ Cases feature a fully stackable, trademarked dual band design and an open cell-core construction that helps protect sensitive equipment from some of the harshest conditions on Earth. The company offers more than 40 case sizes to choose from with their largest model having nearly 230 liters of possible storage space. To ensure easy and immediate access, most cases feature double-throw latches that have been tested to a failure threshold of nearly 181 kilograms, but open with a light pull. Stainless steel reinforced padlock protector holes are also featured for added security.

Additional standard features include a lid equipped with a polymer O-ring for a dust and waterproof seal, and an automatic Gore-TEX® pressure equalization valve that stops moisture from entering the case and prevents vacuum-lock so the case easily opens at any altitude. Proprietary fully customizable Pick 'N' Pluck™ foam is also included with most models.

Optional features include TSA accepted PeliLocks, multi-pocketed lid organizers, as well as single to multi-level padded divider sets. All Peli products are backed by the Unconditional Guarantee: 'You Break It, We Replace It...Forever.'™

Winkelmann Electronic Device Detectors Contribute to Participants' Safety at CISM Military World Games
http://www.army-technology.com/contractors/camouflage/winkelmann/press2.html
Winkelmann UK, the specialist UK manufacturer of counter-surveillance and anti-terrorist equipment, supplied an initial five electronic device detector HAWK XD units to the Hyderabad police for use during the Conseil International du Sport Militaire's (CISM) Military World Games, which were held at Hyderabad and Mumbai, India, from the 14th to the 21st of October 2007. The primary use during the games was to sweep for Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) covertly placed by dissident groups or terrorist organisations.

HAWK XDI ELECTRONIC DEVICE DETECTORS

The HAWK XDi uses advanced techniques, technology and intelligence to detect mines and IEDs within Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and counter-terrorist applications. It detects explosive devices containing electronic components such as remote control receivers, mobile phones, electronic timers, clocks, transceivers, electronic fuses and delayed-action units, whether they are powered or unpowered at the time of the sweep.

Nearly 4,600 military personnel from 89 countries competed in the Fourth CISM Military World Games; in addition there were 3,400 civilian and military volunteers, 17,400 security personnel from the Andhra Pradesh state police and 2,600 home guards involved in the event. Fourteen different disciplines were held: military pentathlon, shooting, parachuting, football, handball, volleyball, sailing, triathlon, athletics, swimming and diving, boxing, judo, and wrestling.
